Like all witches and wise men, Daniel lives in the liminal; one foot in the here and now, the other dances in the other realms with the Faé, his ancestors and ancient Gods. His spiritual initiation into the realm of spirit started during a very young age. Daniel is known for his wise words, transformational healing work, visionary art and his mantic readings. He is professionally trained as a P’aqo of the Inca tradition. A P’aqo is a type of shaman, a mystic and healer. His spiritual roots began growing when he was a child when he became a Wiccan. This changed towards a more animistic world view. Now, after decades of journeying the Other Realms through shamanism, he is now implementing traditional witchcraft, as haegtessa, a hedge witch. He lives with his husband and their son at the edge of a wood, next to a holy brook, surrounded by blackthorn and ivy in the English countryside.
I don't like to be fettered with labels, but if I don’t use them, you won't know exactly what it is I do! My spiritual path is animistic, I am an animist. Animism for me is the construct between us as human animals and us as divine beings of light. It is what makes us truly human and is the beginning of all spiritual paths and religions within humanity. There is a word in Greek, ‘Anthropos,’ which means human, but for me, it is more. It is a human who connects the created world: matter, plants, animals etc…with the creating world: angels, God, light. Here we become co-creators, both ego and soul. To be an animist and witch, you need an unverified personal gnosis. Your individual direct experience of spirits, deity and the spiritual essence of life is more authentic than any dogmatic beliefs held by any spiritual community.
A part of my work here in this plane of existence, is to re-animate the world around me, allowing others to see the magic and beauty within the world and themselves.
